Privacy policy
This policy explains how German Language Coach collects and uses personal information when you visit this website, make an enquiry or take lessons with us. Language Coach Limited, trading as German Language Coach, is responsible for your information (the “data controller”). You can reach us by post at Warnford Court, 29 Throgmorton Street, London EC2N 2AT, or through our contact page.
What we collect
- Enquiries: your name, email address, phone number (optional) and message, when you use the contact form, email or call us. The contact form also tells us the first page you visited on our site and where you came from, for example Google or LinkedIn. Your browser keeps this for that visit only.
- Lessons and training: contact details, your level and goals, and lesson notes. For corporate clients, the names and work contact details of the people who arrange or attend the training. Details needed for invoicing.
- Job applications: name, contact details, cover letter and CV sent through the Work for us page.
- Website use: Google Analytics information, only if you accept analytics cookies.
How we use it, and our legal basis
- To reply to enquiries and arrange lessons: steps you ask us to take before an agreement, and our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries.
- To deliver lessons and training and to invoice: our contract with you or your employer.
- To keep business and tax records: a legal obligation.
- To consider job applications: steps you ask us to take before an agreement.
- To send occasional news and offers by email to clients and people who have enquired about lessons: our legitimate interests. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can ask us to stop at any time.
- To protect the website and its forms from spam and misuse: our legitimate interests.
- To understand how the website is used: your consent for Google Analytics.
We never sell your information.

Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy in a portable format. You can object to marketing emails at any time, and withdraw your consent at any time, for example for analytics under “Cookie settings” at the foot of every page. Requests are free, and we reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first, and we will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113.
Security
The website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, its software is kept up to date, access to your information is limited to those who need it, and regular backups are kept.
How we use cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. This website uses as few as possible.
Needed for the site to work: when you make a choice in our cookie banner, your browser remembers it, so that we do not ask again on every page. The contact form is protected from spam by a security check (Cloudflare Turnstile), which runs only on the contact and Work for us pages. Neither is used to track you.
Google Analytics, only with your consent: if you click “Accept analytics”, we use Google Analytics to see which pages are visited, how visitors find the site and how it is used, so that we can keep improving it. Google Analytics sets cookies whose names begin with _ga, which last for up to two years. The information does not identify you by name. Google processes it as described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services. If you click “Reject”, or make no choice, Google Analytics does not run and sets no cookies.
Changing your choice: you can change your choice at any time under “Cookie settings” at the foot of every page. Choosing “Reject” also removes any Google Analytics cookies already set. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
